What You’re Walking Into
Gold Eagle Casino sits at 11902 Railway Avenue East in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, just off Highway 16, the Yellowhead corridor through west-central Saskatchewan. It is the only full casino operation in the immediate area and has been open since March 1996, making it the oldest property in the SIGA network. The gaming floor covers about 29,000 square feet, there is no entry fee, you do not need a reservation, and the minimum age is 18.
We operate under the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, the non-profit organization created by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations to run casinos on behalf of Saskatchewan First Nations communities. Gold Eagle was the first casino SIGA opened. That structure matters if you are wondering where gaming revenue ends up - proceeds are directed back into First Nations communities across the province rather than to a corporate owner.

Slots, Tables, and What’s Actually Running
Our slot floor has around 325 machines in regular rotation. You will see classic reels, video-style games, and progressive jackpot titles side by side. Progressive pots grow over time as people play, so sometimes timing feels like it matters more than you think. It is worth doing a slow walk around the floor before you pick a spot.
Slots keep running all day within regular hours, but tables work a bit differently. Blackjack, roulette, and several poker-style games are the core of our table pit, along with Phil’em Up, which is a proprietary SIGA poker variant you will not see outside these casinos. On a typical day we have seven to eight tables open, with a few adjustments depending on traffic and day of the week.
Electronic table games are on site as well. Those are helpful late at night when live dealers finish for the evening, but you still feel like playing a few more hands and do not want to move back to regular slots.
There is no dress code at Gold Eagle Casino. You do not need a membership to step onto the floor or play. We do have a players loyalty program that tracks your play and converts it into points. Those points can be redeemed directly for cash, which keeps things straightforward instead of running through a complex tier system where rewards are hard to use.
Hours - and Why They’re Worth Checking
We open the gaming floor at 10:00 a.m. every day. Closing times depend on the day of the week.
| Day | Gaming Floor Closes | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday - Wednesday | 2:00 a.m. | Standard schedule |
| Thursday | 3:00 a.m. | One hour extended |
| Friday - Saturday | 4:00 a.m. | Full weekend hours |
Table games operate inside that broader schedule. They usually start mid-afternoon and close sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., depending on the night. Electronic tables follow the same hours as the main slot floor, so even after live tables stop, you still have table-style play available.
One thing we always suggest for table players: call ahead if your visit depends on certain games being open. Seasonal changes, events, and staffing can all shift the exact times that tables are running, and the general posted hours do not always reflect a specific night to the minute.
Food, the Lodge, and the Surrounding Setup
Inside the casino you will find the Kihiw Restaurant, which seats roughly 85 guests. It handles the main food and beverage service for the property and serves throughout operating hours, so you can sit down for a proper meal or just grab something between sessions. A lounge and bar service runs alongside restaurant operations.
Gold Eagle Lodge is located right next door at 12004 Railway Avenue East. The lodge is owned and run separately from the casino, but for visitors coming in from out of town it is the most practical overnight option. Both buildings sit along the same stretch of Railway Avenue, so moving between your room and the casino is simple and does not require a vehicle.
North Battleford and Battleford provide the core of our regular crowd, but the casino draws people from across west-central Saskatchewan. Being on Highway 16 makes it a natural stop for drivers using the Yellowhead route between larger centers like Saskatoon and Edmonton.
